Suikoden

I can't say that there's any theme here - the Chris and Hugo skins I consider to be part of a set, and the Nash and Chris skins, of course, are both screencaps, but then Clive and Elza come from Konami's official gallery (I think the art is for cards) and there'll be more where they came from.

Clive and Elza Elza gets her own skin later, so I'm not going to feel too guilty about burying her in the skin elements. Title from a Lisa Loeb song, credit owed to Cat once more. Lyrics in the readme; they make a hell of a lot more sense attached to these two than they do on their own. If you're new to the series as of the third game, or never played the Clive storyline (I didn't either) you can find two walkthroughs for it at GameFAQs and some transcripts at Suikosource as well. Atomic spoilers, of course.

Don't ask me why the skin's brown. It's not my fault. It just happened.

Chris I'd been eyeing this shot from the intro covetously for a while, thinking "somebody should screencap that so I could make a skin of it," because, you know, it's all about me here. But lo, it came to pass. Yay. Image from the intro taken from RPG Dreamers, title from the song by Sting. Lyrics have nothing to do with anything for a change. I was just being cheesy this time. There are some problems here, such as the position slider, but all in all I'm pretty happy with it. The actual skin looks considerably better than the screencap shown here.
Hugo Well, the True Fire Rune - its history along with its symbolic and its actual importance - is really important to the game. And it's substantially prettier than most of the other available runes. Plus, this series of skins gives me an excuse to download and listen to Eighties music! Credit for the music choice goes to Darine and Straya, this time. Lyrics in the readme.

I'm sorry - I just don't have much in the way of fangirl devotion for Hugo. He's okay. He has some good lines. But nothing good enough to justify a minibrowser. Sorry.

Chris Forget everything I said about Beatrix - Chris is the coolest woman in the history of the universe. No one else even comes close. I *love* her. And if you even suggest she might hook up with Nash I will cry and cry. The image comes from the cover of the second manga volume - I also cry and cry over her manga characterization, but at least the art's pretty. By way of showing my love, I gave her a minibrowser. I'm really happy with this skin.

Without Cat and Merc I wouldn't have known about the song, and without it the skin wouldn't have happened, so big thanks to them. Lyrics in the readme file, along with spoilers. If you've played through everybody's chapter 3, you should be fine. Otherwise, just be mystified as to why she's standing in front of the rune and go play the game some more.

Nash Just call Nash Cognitive Dissonance Boy - I hated him with a passion after playing Suikoden 3, because he was slimy and gross and hit on my beloved Chris and nobody who is not of the knights should get to do that, and them only with my express permission. Then, I got to the Suikogaiden sections of Suikosource and... um...

..........

..............he's actually hot. Like... really hot. And that's not even getting into the intro movie. Guh.

Damn him.

So, this skin is all about me being shallow, yet hostile. Whee! The screencap, of course, comes from Suikosource, which is the only reason I know anything at all about Suikogaiden.
