Aoshi is the continuation of the manga-style series, while Tomoe and Kaoru were produced in an insane flurry of activity - about three hours for each skin. I don't think I'll be making a habit of that kind of thing. Misao is, for the moment, the conclusion of the manga series. Well, much as I loathe the OVA, I'm forced to admit that it has some cool imagery. Altogether too much imagery and too little story and emotion, but that's a rant for another day. This one's much, MUCH better than my last Tomoe skin, both in image and in skin quality. Very dark, but that fits, too.

I lied. There is one good manga image of Misao. So this is the last of the manga-style series, I guess. Volume bar is non-functioning and hidden in the top of her head. The eject button is right on her face. Sorry about those two problems. Title comes from a Sano theme, which is one of my favorite pieces of RK BGM. Shuffle and loop, when not pressed, look like weird tattoos on her upper arm. And the background was placed badly. Still and all, I kind of like it. Made by request. |

Another Yamaguchirow doujin skin, this time from one of the new ones I bought at A-kon. I really like the base image, and the red-and-black theme works FAR better on this one than it did on my first Trigun skin. If you don't like red it may blind you, though. I don't know quite what to think of this one - I tried some new stuff with the shapes and it may well have been a disaster. Let me know what you think, ne? If you pay attention to file names, you may be wondering why this is kaoru2.zip, when I was already up to the fourth. I made three Kaoru skins early on (they were among the first I ever made, actually) but only finished the playlist for the third. Eventually I completed the playlist on the first, but I never did get around to finishing the second in the series. Finally I realized the second skin was crap and scrapped it. I just decided to fill in the gap in the numbering. I doubt you really cared. |

I called this "Anime Tomoe" on the RK index, because I have no idea what else this might be. It's clearly not OVA style, because she looks pretty, and female, neither of which can be said of the OVA artwork. And it's not manga-style, obviously. I seem to remember someone noticing her in the closing credits of the anime at one point, so my guess is that's the design used here. I like this skin overall, but it comes out sort of unbalanced - the equalizer looks empty and the main window almost too crowded. Sigh. You know what, though? I actually like her. I finally realized my problem. It's the OVA, where she really does kind of creep me out. I HATE the OVA, but I love manga Tomoe. And manga Battousai, for that matter - another character I disliked in the OVA. Weird. I wish the skin I made to commemorate that realization had been better, though. |

It's... weird. I like the title, and I like the background, but other than that, I don't know. I used the same elements in this as in the others, but for some reason it worked on them and it doesn't work on this. Don't ask me, I don't know. Sigh. Well, anyway, it's Aoshi and it's not titled Ice Blue Eyes, which is an achievement in its own right, so I guess it's okay. Postable, at least. I would like to use this space to apologize to all the Misao fans; she won't be participating in this series of skins, because she appears in, like, three pieces of color manga artwork, and all three of them make her look like crap. She's normally so cute, including in black-and-white manga artwork, which is why it's bizarre. So, um, just download Aoshi for all your Oniwabanshu needs.
