This page consists entirely of the manga-style series, a collection of skins using, unsurprisingly, manga artwork of the RK characters. Most of them were edited and placed on a new background (except Kenshin, for whom I could get NOTHING to work... you wouldn't think the sweet li'l rurouni would be so damn difficult.) This page also features the Tomoe remake... technically the original Tomoe skin could have gone on this page, but it wasn't very good, so I rejected it. I finally put this page on the same pattern as the others, with the skins going from newest at the top to oldest at the bottom. Click here for the earlier RuroKen skins, and here for Aoshi and any newer skins.

It uses the same image as the first Tomoe skin I made, but in every other way it's different, so I don't consider this a remake. The background came from a Christmas card, part of a set that featured winter-themed Edo-era woodcuts on the front. Tomoe's always been associated with snow and the past anyway, so it was just about perfect. The title comes from the OVA soundtrack and is almost cheesy in its fittedness for this skin. I would like to point out, also, that the screencap sucks, and actually makes the skin look pink (and a rather unpleasant green.) The skin is not pink. Or green. Do not be alarmed. In fact, I'm very happy with it in all respects. |

I used the same font in this one as in the Megumi skin, for some reason. I like it. It's pretty, it's purple, and I've always liked that image of Kaoru (Kenshin's in it too, but he wasn't skinnable, so I had to cut him out.) I set up the image for skinning long ago, before I started the rest of the manga-style series, changed the background twice, and then finally finished it in a little over a day. Anyhoo. Everything works, it's all visible, and while it may not be a terribly summery pic, I couldn't think of a better title. This series may continue later (I found workable images for Aoshi and Enishi, I'm looking for a Misao image I can stand, and by rights I should include Yahiko because I have the rest of the Kenshin-gumi) but I've done the skins I set out to do. |

Poor Megumi. Like her lovemuffin Sano, she's almost never in images on her own, which makes it hard to find skinnable images of her. She has no character theme, no vocal song of her own - filler chicks have vocal tracks, for heaven's sake, but Megumi only has a duet with Sano. Which means I was hard up for a title. I was also hard up for a background, and ended up swiping an image of a real-life ballroom somewhere and tampering with it till I liked its looks. This skin gave me fits, even worse than the "Agh! GREEN!" Sano skin - I was convinced all the browns were clashy. To some extent I'm still convinced of that, but I'm learning to like the skin anyway. It's a nifty image, at least... Western clothing suits her better than it does Kaoru. Note: Shuffle is on when her brooch (or pendant or whatever - the gem on her choker) is blue. Loop is invisible till pressed. |

And here's the second in the series. Sano is even harder to skin than Kenshin. There just aren't many images of him that would work in skins - he's usually hidden behind someone, or sometimes bleeding. I had my doubts about the green at first, but it grew on me, and this is now one of my favorite skins, simple though it is. Hopefully you don't find it too obnoxious. The background is a photo of Japanese maple leaves - they're actually Kenshin's symbol, but I didn't like how they looked with Kenshin and I do like how they look with Sano. The title is totally random and has no connection to the skin, except that I sort of thought the original image used in the background looked like it was rainy. |

At long last, a skin of MY Kenshin. As nice as the Battousai can be to look at, I still prefer my happy smiling Rurouni, but it's hard to find skins of him. Or skinnable images of him, for that matter. This is the first in a planned series of manga-style RK skins. The title comes from a filler chick's vocal song, but it fit, cause, you know, it's night, which means the day's over. ::nods:: |
