So I finally got around to doing the FFX-2 section. More to come... and since I gather people are a bit confused, let the record show that I expect this game to be the cheesiest cheese that ever cheesed and I can't wait. So, yes, I make fun of it. That's not always a bad thing. As I see it, if it sucks at least it's going to suck in gloriously over-the-top fashion, and if it doesn't suck, yay, I get to play a good game. There's no losing here. Okay, so I lied, I didn't preorder it. But I did get it for Christmas, and yay, it's fun!

Yep. This game kicks some tail. And Yuna's VA finally, like, has emotions and stuff! It's like she's a whole new character! One with a personality! And a brand-new arsenal and lots of clothes! LOTS of clothes. I am having so much fun. |

I wonder if Spira has any nudist colonies? Because it's beginning to seem like that's how Rikku would be most comfortable. Whatever makes her happy, I guess - those outfits seem to me like they'd be a bit drafty, but she's the one wearing them. This class in particular makes me happy, too, because dude, we get a gambler class! It's like I get Setzer back, only now he's a half-naked teenage girl! Hooray! This skin was tons of fun to make, and while I wouldn't normally think gray and yellow work, I absolutely love the results. |

It all started with the GUNS!, of course. While initially appalled at the thought of a direct sequel (and, worse, one that would not include a playable Lulu) I was quickly converted by the firearms and hoochie shorts. Then more designs started turning up... Kefkarina (you know her better as LeBlanc) and her minions, and then Nooooj. "WTF?" I demanded of my computer monitor. I mocked. I hated. And then, somehow, the forum thread turned on a dime from referring to him as "a paragon of lameness" to declaring that he was "TEH_H0TNESS!!1" It was one of the greatest things I've ever seen, and really hard to explain if you weren't there. The forum may be a bit dead now, but I still dedicate this skin to y'all.

Well, whatever. I can always pin my hopes on becoming a gunslingin' insurance adjuster, per Trigun. My job makes one crave weaponry anyway. Yep, with FFX-2 it all comes back to GUNS! though Paine's SWORD! isn't bad either. Especially given that it's an FF game. Having been immersed in the Suikoden games lately, sword-wielding women don't seem like quite such a big deal. |

Oh my God. Square just up and decided to make her COOL.
I know, there have been two reactions to this. Either "Whoa! KickASS! Guns are cool!" or "Oh my God, nooooo! She's slutty now!" I say bring on the slutty if it involves firearms. I could not be more thrilled about the new game if it involved Vash the Stampede jumping out of a cake naked for me. Even Rikku running around in an outfit made out of less fabric than your average tea towel cannot quench my ardor. I forgive Nomura for Tifa's boobies, and Yuffie's shorts, and all of FF8. I love him now. The title is from the Trigun soundtrack, and was chosen because I was mildly creeped out by all the guys who went all "I liked her better innocent!" Dude, she's been through enough. She's entitled to cut loose and have some fun and get whistled at on the street if that's what she wants out of life right now. And GUNS ARE KEWL1!!!! I will be, like, pre-ordering this. GUNS! |
