By rights, I should have hated this game - it has all the flaws of FF8, from the slow plot to the chemistry-free love story to the arm-waving, and even a few new ones, like THE GODDAMNED PUZZLES - but it also has a likable cast and a story that, while slow, was actually worth the trouble in the end. It's so much easier to play the game when you don't want to chop the hero into tiny little pieces. (See: FF8.) Besides that, the world was well-done, the best in any FF game. Yuna's voice acting stunk up the joint, but all the other actors ranged from acceptable to very good, and while the music wasn't very memorable, it didn't make my ears bleed. (See: FF7.) To my shock and horror, I ended up liking Wakka and Lulu best, even though I planned to hate them both. I was *so* looking forward to mocking Lulu... it would have been so easy! Blargh.
